My Bio
Hey there! I'm WitsomeWonder.

Bio
I've been drawing since my grubby fist could wield a crayon, and I've been sculpting with polymer clay since I was about 6 (so, not much later.) I actually studied art pretty extensively in high school, but stopped taking the extracurricular classes for it when I got into college. So, I haven't been too artistically productive for the last four years. On the bright side, I'm about to graduate (at 20, with degrees in Linguistics and Letters!) so even though I'll be working more now, I'll have more time to work on my arts and crafts.

Primary Mediums
I used to work with a lot of ceramic, but since I only had the facilities to use it when I was in classes, I haven't gotten to work with it recently. Now I mostly work with polymer clay (Sculpey's various kinds, I've never liked Fimo's texture), and occasionally use foil and wire armatures for my pieces. I also almost never actually paint over my clay, which is apparently unusual.

I also still draw a bit, typically using pen and ink (my favorite is using old-style nibbed pens and sweet, sweet 80lb paper). Hopefully eventually I'll figure out a good way to color them. I've been eyeing my watercolors lately...

I also do some other artisan crafts, like dabbling in leatherwork, sewing and knitting.

Subject Material and Style

In my clay work, my typical subjects are animals, fantasy creatures, and people. I especially like making very small things, but I think my larger works turn out better. Occasionally I'll do something fanart-related, especially if it's a commission for someone else.

As for drawing, now typically I don't draw in the traditional style I used to study. I'm working on developing an actual cartoonish art style that I could use for my own comic ideas. I also do some anime-style stuff, especially Chicanery! which I've been working on with :Super-Harmony: for years and years now. (We've recently picked it back up again, so hopefully we can do something cool with it. )

Commissions
I'm open to commissions for anything drawing or polymer, particularly polymer. If you have a request for a piece, just PM me, and when I've finished it if you want to actually buy it we can negotiate based on the size/difficulty. Since I'm out of practice, I'll probably stay pretty cheap for a while, so give me some requests!

So I'm still not being the most productive, art-wise. I still have those couple of crappy sketches to post, but I keep forgetting to scan them up. Also, after a nearly 2-month break from anything but microsoft paint, I'm getting kinda rusty again. It doesn't take long when you're already out of practice anyways. Oh well, I'm still better off than I started, and have been getting at least some sketching done. And I've had computer access for more than 1 hour at a time, so I finally got through my deviation stacks and comments! Hi everyone! I missed you! All 5 of you who actually read my journals at times. XD  I'm sorry they get so long. >_

I have continued to miss DeviantArt lately. Computer has been on the fritz (there's only one working charger for both laptops in the house, and my laptop battery is burnt out entirely) and it was completely out of commission for a while. And my projector bulb burnt out, so entertaining Kumari usually requires said single laptop charger. My duties in Kumari-keeping have kept me rather occupied most of the time. For example, at the moment I'm hanging out on my (newly decorated) patio at 4am making sure she actually gets to sleep. I feel like this is probably a lesser extent of what people with little kids get to do. Well, without having to clea

I think this is turning out to be the most interesting of summers. New roommate with a lot of medical stuff to arrange, trying to plan the whole "getting married" thing, hanging out with everyone who I haven't spent much time with during school, playing D&D (including with new roommate, who's the least nerdy person who is nonetheless finding it extraordinarily fun), and I still have barely got to my summer reading and crafting list. XD Oh, yeah, and looking for a better job. :/ Guess I didn't have plenty of time to play Ni No Kuni this summer after all, I haven't even started it yet. So I've been sharing computer with new roommate for the pa

Awesome! When we have hanging-out times you should bring them over! And I should really make some more Chicanery-themed clay things.
Yaaaaaaaaayyy replies from you~!!  I missed you.
Yep! Such a cute Ramboy. Yes, more Chicanery clays!
Also I should post a picture of the Amoonie figure I made. Cause I actually kinda like her.
